Jana is an RN with over 8 years experience in a Level III NICU, and brings newborn assessment skills to her midwifery work.

She has attended hundreds of births in the home, birth center, and hospital setting and co-founded the Flagstaff Birth Collective in 2021.

Jana has studied extensively with Dr. Aviva Romm and completed her comprehensive Women's Functional & Integrative Medicine Training Program.

She values connecting with clients and creating a safe space where they have time to ask questions and share the decision-making process for their own bodies, births, and health care.

Jana provides women’s health care services in her office at the Flagstaff Birth Collective, as well as telehealth and home visits, under certain circumstances. She is also a homebirth midwife.

Jana enjoys yoga and Barre3, travel, baking, and time in nature, in her limited spare time!

She is married to Bruce, a Montessori teacher, yoga teacher and artist, and they have a teenage son, who was born at home.

    • Prenatal visits every 4 weeks from 12-28 weeks, every 2 weeks from 28-36 weeks, then weekly from 36 weeks until birth

    • At least one prenatal home visit

    • Ordering all labs, ultrasounds, and medications as needed (cost of such not included in global fee)

    • Early pregnancy confirmation visit and ultrasound if desired

    • Early genetic testing and fetal sex confirmation if desired

    • Referrals to support services such as doulas, lactation consultant, chiropractor, massage therapist, acupuncturist, childbirth education, counseling, physical therapy

    • Discount for childbirth education with Flagstaff Doulas

    • Referrals to OB or Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists as needed

    • Connecting with one midwife for all your prenatal care, labor and birth, and postpartum

    • All birth assistants are RNs

    • ​Use of waterbirth tub

    • Postpartum care includes 2 home visits in first week

    • Quick response on lab results and for any questions or concerns

    • 24hr access directly to midwife for labor and URGENT health concerns

    • Billable to your insurance if we are in network  (BCBS, Aetna, Cigna)

    • Self pay discount of 20% off insurance rates if we are not in network or if you are uninsured
